Hi how I enjoy your site ,and looking at the lovely big weels why cant we have coaches like those today, you can just see how the baby was in comfort, and not shaken all over the place in these carrier bags on weels. well heres my question,I have asked before but you never got back to me,in 1950s my sister has this most buatifull pram a real big one ,navy pale grey lining

in hood very ellegant but the mistry is tyhe brake,it was on the handle just like a cable brake for a cycle, when walking down a hill, you would click into like a gear to slow the pram from going to quick,it was a bautey and just glided along, everyone past a remark on this one!!! the nurse who looked after my sister asked if ever sold could she buy it and she did.my sister wish she had never parted with this pram.its weels must have been 22 or more smaller on back i was only a child but had to take my nephew out in this carrige i loved it dearly ,can you tell me please if you have seen this pram with the brake on handle love to see one and what the make was.I have a lovely Royale  new hood and apron mattres pillow all the covers new tyers love it also,I have always been drawn to these big prams I even love the smellcant help it.mine is like new and I had it for my grandson who is now 14 years old.wish I could take it down the path for a walk!!!!! jeanie.

Hello  Jeannie,  sorry  I  didn't  get   back  to you,  I  only know  of  one  pram  manufacturer   who  used     a  hand  brake  like  you describe  and  if I  remember  rightly  it  was   called Churchill.    I   don't  know much  about   them  and  I  personally  have never seen one, but they do  come  up  for  sale  now  and again.   I'll    double  check  with  my  friends  that    I   am giving  you the  right information  here,  if  not  I  will post  a  message  again  about  it.

I've   just  been  told  that   there  was  a 'Savile'  pram  for  sale on  Ebay  recently   which I  didn't  see,   and  that  had a  handbrake   too.    I  had  never  heard of a  Savile  before   but  it  looks     a nice little  pram.    This is  hte  number  for it   but  it  has  ended   so   you will only have  a limited   time  to  see it on Ebay  using  this number - 130338596263
