Don't hesitate to buy Sandra's straps.  They are excellent and she and I have discussed previously, the possibility of  green coloured straps. I am confident she will be able to help you.

As I understand, jelly moulds are the chromed caps at the end of bars that go through the body of a pram.  You will see them clearly at the point where the four corner  leather straps are fastened from the chassis onto the pram.   They are called jelly molulds because they look like minature Victorian jelly moulds.

I am sure others will have a better technical description. Hope this helps?

I have my pram straps now but can anyone tell me if they have to fit tightly? To fit thse straps the pram body has to be pulled downwards in order to do the straps up.I have never used straps before so would be grateful of some advice as to if they fit properly, thanks

No  Pam  the  two long  straps    which    are  there  just  to  stop   the  pram  body  from   'bouncing'  up   too high,   should   be  really very   loose.  If  they are  tight (and  especially if  you have  to  pull  the  body  down  towards the  chassis  to    get them fastened)  then you need   longer  ones.      Pushing  the pram   is  very  uncomfortable  if  the straps  are  tight,  there  is  no   bounce at  all  and   it  all  feels  very  hard  and  horrible!   I    would  hate  to think  what  sort  of a ride  a   baby  would have in a pram  with  stabilisers  so  short.   sounds  as  though you  need longer ones.

Be careful   Pam,  old     straps  can   snap  so  easily  because  they a re  so  brittle  and dry.    I  have  had it  happen   to  me   and  I had  a  new  Grandson in  the  pram  at the  time,  only  about   4  weeks  he  was.     Ask  your husband  to   get  you  some of  the   nylon  tie  things,   in  a  large  s ize  and  put  those  on   along  with   the  old  straps.    You'd  need    two   for  each  strap   I'd   say,      if    you put  those  on  first  and then  the leather  straps  on   top  of  them,  they  would  help  take  the  strain.     I'd  recommend  that  for  anyone  really,    they are   cheap   to   buy  and   so much  better  than  risking your  pram  falling  into  the  chassis  with   all of the damage  that  that  could  bring with it.
