HI

Can anyone advise on a suitable matress for an Osnath pram.  It measures 41 x 80 but tapers to 38 at the pram end.

The pram is 45 years old and I am tidying it up for my daughter.  The chasis has some scrapes and could do with dome black paint - any ideas

My mum had the hood and apron re-done 24 years ago but although in quite good condition outside the inner plastic has ripped at the top seams on both sides - any idea how to repair this?

I don't want to go to a lot of expense and don't have much time so any advice on tidying up would be most welcome.

many thanks

Evie  for   mattresses     you   could   do a lot worse  then   to  go  to

www.babymattressesonline.co.uk

They  will make  a mattress  to   fit  your  pram  for   you,  you  just measure the   length  and  width of the  pram bed  and  tell  them how  deep  you  want the mattress  and  hey presto  the  mattress  appears in the post.   They have  made    a few  for me   and  they are  absolutely  beautiful  I  can  promise  you  and mine  were not at  all expensive, I  would recommend them to  anyone.

You can use   spray    paint  from   Halfords Evie,   rub  the   chassis   down   with  wet  and dry  paper to get off  any   flaking  paint  or  any  rust  then  use a    finer  grade of    wet  and dry  to  get  a lovely  smooth  finish.   You  will have  to  use  a   spray    primer  if  you have   gone  down  to   bare  metal at  all,  then   an  undercoat  and  then a  top  coat.   Between each  coat  give the paint  a  quick  rub  down  with   smooth  paper  to  make  sure  you have  a  good  surface for the next   coat   and  that's  how  I  do my  chassis  with  spray paint  at  any  rate.  I  have  started  using   coachpaint  these  days  and  putting  it  on  with a  brush  but  you are only  touching  up   and  so   you  would be  better  with   Halfords  spray  paints  I  would think.

There isn't  really  any  way  to   repair  the  vinyl   that I can think of  Evie,  not really.  I  suppose  you might  be able  to  try  to  put   some sort of    vinyl  patch  under  the  split    or maybe over  the top of the   splits  and    glue   it   in place,  but  that is  all I can  think of  I'm  afraid.
