Hi everyone, I am new to the site and I have just bought a silvercross oberon dolls pram with ceramic rose plaques. It is in generally good condition but could do with new paint work, tires and definitely needs anew hood and Apron. I was going to buy a new hood and apron for it but heritage prams no longer make the 3 point hoods so I am going to recover the old one because I'm not keen on the 2 point hoods. So I have decided that I am going to do a colour change while I am working on it. I am looking for fabric for the apron but the hopsack fabric doesn't come in the colour I want (a dark plum/purple shade so I was wondering if there would be any other type of fabric that would be suitable? for the paint I would like a very rich metallic purple (lighter than the hood) and was wondering if car paint would work? I have seen a few tins of metallic purple that I really like. Also I am guessing that I would need to remove the rose plaques so what would I use to stick them back on to the body? Finally I was wondering where to get tires from since there is a big hole in one of them but the wheels are in good condition. This is my first project pram that I would like to work on fairly quickly so that it is ready for my daughter to play with

You and I both Shoogah, I am looking for a damson colour fabric - a VERY dark wine colour but I have been unable to find any I'm afraid, so I can't help you with that one. Yes car paint in an aerosol will work on your pram and you are right about removing the plaques from the side, it would be difficult to rub the side of the pram down without catching the plaques I would think. It would be possible to mask them out as far as the spraying goes but it is all of the rubbing down and getting itno the very edge of the pram and the plaque that worries me about that. firs tof all you would need to remove the lining of the pram so that you can get at the back of the plaques then the full sized prams use a heavy weight rubber band to hold the plaques in place and I presume that the dolls prams have the same sort of system to do the same for the smaller prams. I am not sure but Ruud Mors may sell tyres for dolls prams, you would have to email and ask him. His email address is in the section on the left under Pram Suppliers/Services, just scroll down until you get to Ruud's details. Oh and I must tell you before I forget, that your pram isn't an Oberon is it s Super Rose because it has the two sets of wheels of different sizes. Good luck w ith your work,
