Can anyone please tell me how to remove the canopy knobs from a silver cross balmoral, i have this problem all the time, some just unscrew others unscrew so far and then teyare stuck, i have ruined a few of these trying to remove them, with plyers etc, if you have a way please let me know

Kim     would  you mind if  I  asked you why  you would  want  to   remove  the  canopy  knobs  from your  Balmoral?    You  don't   need  to  remove   them   to   remove the hood    for  instance,  so I am a  bit  puzzled.

 I tried it to replace a dull SX canopy knob with a nice Wilson Rose type . It was a Wilson Milano so it seemed appropriate . I got away with brute force abd pliers but it was a risk i wouldnt recommend .
