CoachBuilt Prams

Perfect Elegance

Here  is  my  new  Stargazer   Quilt   Set  shown on  my   Marmet  Lady.   I  wanted  to  try   something  different   and  embroidered   the lilies   on  my   sewing machine  on the  dark  navy  background  and added  a  crisp  white lace   frill.   The   3D  butterflies   were   also   embroidered on my  machine    stiffened  and then  attached   so that   they   seem  to  fultter  slightly  in  a  breeze or  when the  pram is moved.    I  haven't made  a   canopy  cover  for  this   yet.   More  photographs  below, including  some  taken  with the  set on  the   Marmet  Queen  so  that  you can see  what  it  looks  like on   different  coloured  prams.

This  close up  photograph of  the large     Lily  motif  on  the   quilt   doesn't show  the  true   colours  I'm  afraid  because  it was  taken  indoors  and  I have  those    eco   bulbs  which  tend  to   give  a   yellow  cast  to everything.     The   photographs  taken outside   show   the   true    colours  I  would  say.

This  is  a  very  pretty Pink  Gingham  Set

Rose Swag  Quilt  Set  and  canopy  cover

This  is  a  very  pretty    quilt  set   I hope you'll agree.  I  fell in   love  with the  fabric as  soon as I  saw it  because it   reminds me   so much of the more   traditional dressings  for  a  coachbuilt pram.   There  weren't   many of the  really  girly,  frilly and   lacey  sets - which  we    tend  to have   now  -  when I  was   a  little  girl.

There  are   3  distinctly  different  patterns  on  this   fabric  itself and I   tried  to  use all  three  of them   to best  effect.   There  is  a pretty  double     frill  around  the edge -  each  finished  with rolled hems in  a  lovely shiny    deep pink  embroidery   thread and  then  a  3 mm  burgundy  ribbon.   I didn't  want  to   go too  OTT  with this  set and  so  I left it  at  that,   why   guild  a lily?    The  fabric is  poly  cotton  and  so very easy  care.     I make  my    quilts with  a  separate     removeable    quilt  inside  a quilt  cover  and  so     this makes   laundering  very  easy too.

Embroidered    Rose  Set

This is   a  beautiful  set,  extravagant without  being   overly  fussy.   There  is  a large   rose spray embroidered  in   beautiful   shiny  thread    onto   the    main   part of the  quilt  and  also on  the  pillowcase.    On the  quilt turnback  there is  a little   butterfly   which   is  repeated here and there  on  the  canopy  cover too.   I  just  love  this  frothy    lace, it  is  so  different!

Gossamer   fine    lace with  threaded  ribbon    trim

Pillowcase

This  is   the  Butterfly Canopy   Cover   which I  made  to   match  the   embroidered   rose  set

I    added   various   motifs  of   butterflies   to the  cover, along  with   one  or   two 3D   butterflies  which    do  tend  to  move  and   flutter   with   the  movement of the pram or  the  slightest   breeze.

Another     embroidered  Rose   set in  red.

The   butterflies on the  canopy   were  completed  in colours   to  tone  with the red  rose.

White Broderie  Anglais   set  for   large    coachbuilt pram,   trimmed  very  simply  with   blue  3 mm   ribbon.  The   fabric  is  top    quality  traditional    5 hole   broderie  anglais, in   pure  white.

I  thought  this might  be more  suitable  for the little boys  than  the  very  frilly   'pink'  things that  I am  usually making.   There are  no   rosebuds   on this  set,  just  a couple of  bows here  and there.  This    canopy  cover  has  a  cheeky  little   frill  instead of  the   usual  fringe  to the edge of the  canopy. I  think  it  looks  lovely on the Wedgwood pram.

Bobble   pram  covers.   I made  this  pattern  for    crochet   pram  covers  from  an   old  crochet  pattern   that  I   found  from the 70's and  gradually  it  evolved   to   what it  is   today.    It  takes me  a  minimum  of    2 weeks to make  these,  that's  as  long  as  I   am not  up  to my eyes in other  things,  because I  do  them in my  'spare'   time! ;-)

I  can make them in  any     colour,  but  at  the moment  I have    a  navy   and   cream  one  and  also  a    white  one  with  lemon and  blue   bobbles, which are   both  finished.

Gingham Pram Quilt Set and Canopy

A fresh, crisp and clean look for a new quilt and canopy set.    Shown here on my Marmet Queen,   this canopy is 22 inches wide.

I liked  this  set  so much that  I have  decided  to make  one  for my own  pram.

Corner Detail

Silver Leaf Pram Set and Canopy   This is a beautiful pram set made in white taffeta material with leaves embroidered on it in silver metallic thread.    I finished this set with silver ribbon and white fringing to the canopy.

Twinkly Set
This set was made very recently from a material which has glitter bonded to the surface of it, it really catches the light.    I got the beautiful lace from America.    It is trimmed with very narrow lilac ribbon and rosebuds.

The Sweetheart Set

5

I designed this Sweetheart Set around 5 hole broderie anglais and used ribbon rosebuds to make up the 'sweetheart'.
